Das neighbours ist eine Idee, ein Prozess und vor allem ein Raum.

Ein Raum in der Göttinger Innenstadt für Möglichkeiten, Austausch und Begegnungen, Ideen und Gedanken.

Ein Raum für Kunst & Kultur - sei es für Ausstellungen, Lesungen, Konzerte, Workshops.

Ein Raum, in dem es leckeren Kaffee, Tee und selbst gebackenen Kuchen gibt.

Ein Raum, den wir gemeinsam schaffen. Möglich wird das durch euer Mitwirken und durch den Café-Betrieb, über den der Raum erhalten werden kann. Die Einnahmen fließen ausschließlich in das Gehalt der bezahlten Mitarbeiter*innen sowie Deckung der Kosten, welche z.B. Fixkosten wie Miete oder Anschaffungen umfassen. Gewinne fließen in die Rückzahlung der Privatkredite und die Ermöglichung sowie Unterstützung der Kulturarbeit vor Ort.  

Darüber hinaus versteht sich das neighbours als Raum, der stets im Entstehen ist. Ein Prozess also, in welchem gemeinsame Werte und Ideale im Miteinander diskutiert und umgesetzt werden können. Daher werden alle Entscheidungen (wie z.B. Arbeitszeiten und Gehalt) kollektiv in Plena beschlossen. Eine*n Chef*in gibt es nicht.

Das neighbours als Idee ist abhängig von den Menschen, die sich in dem Raum begegnen und in dem Raum miteinander wirken. Deshalb ist die Antwort auf die Frage, was das neighbours ist, auch eine andere, je nachdem welche Person gefragt wird. ​

A space that we create together. This is made possible by your participation and by the café-business, through which the space can be maintained. The income is used exclusively for the salary of the paid staff and to cover the costs, which include fixed costs such as rent or purchases. Profits are used to repay the private loans and to enable and support the cultural work on site.

In addition, neighbours sees itself as a space that is always in the making. A process in which common values and ideals can be discussed and implemented together. Therefore, all decisions (such as working hours and salary) are decided collectively in plenums. There is no boss.

neighbours as an idea depends on the people who meet and work together in the space. Therefore, the answer to the question of what neighbours is, is also different, depending on which person is asked.
